Youth Leaders Summit '09
Saturday, February 7, 2009, 10:59 PM
Attended the Youth Leaders Summit at Christ Church Secondary (in Woodlands O:) yesterday as well as friday. Yesterday's was from 8am to 6pm. As expected, I was totally zonked out at the end of the day, when I reached home at approx 8.45pm, I was so exhausted. Thanks Mr Oh for dinner and London cab hurhur. :DPictures at the end of the post. Firstly, I feel so privilleged to be able to go for this summit. And I totally wouldn't mind going for the international one again next year, but of course the opportunity would be given to others, because I have been extremely lucky to go for such seminars twice already. (RGS Peer Support Sharing as well as Youth Summit) Wearing blazers and court shoes for the occasion was fun, but hot and tiring. Haha, Mr Oh, we want to wear blazers to school!!!! :D Look so zai la. Learnt many more things about Leadership. I really hope I can be a better leader after this session, and I believe I will. One of the phrases that is totally stuck inside my head, "Leadership is ACTION not POSITION". To be a leader you must be able to do things, not just wear your badge for show or anything like that. Status - Your position Stature - Your look, how you carry yourself Substance - Do you have what it takes to be a leader? These are the three types of leaders. What kind of leader are you? The finance game on friday was the bombz! So fun shouting "retrenched!" and stuff. Complaining when we don't get to buy property during the Slump stage. It was fun, really. The second day was slightly more boring, because of the lack of activities and stuff. But it was damn enriching, though not necessarily engaging. Was slightly unhappy about missing Campus Change Makers yesterday, but I felt it was kindaf worth it because I have gained priceless information and knowledge from the summit. Although CCM was more fun, I believe the summit will benefit myself as well as PSL (when Darren, Jasmin and I apply it accordingly to the greater good of PSL) which will in turn benefit TMS and lastly Singapore. Hahaha, something like what Zul said during his speech huh. :D To the leaders out there who read my blog, Here's a question you should continually be asking yourself. Is one a leader just because he leads? Walker, Me, Jasmin :) Jasmin and I :D![]() Me: What????? Want to fight is it?Jasmin: Eh Wenqing lax!! Darren looks constipated but still! Darren, Me, Jasmin :DJun Shen is damn good at drawing. He drew this for me (cos I requested it!) Haha, was writing out the lyrics for A1's Like A Rose lol. Mr Leong!!! Haha.![]() ![]() Credits to Jasmin for the pictures. My phone batt flat so couldn't take pictures ahaha. Had loads of fun with all these people! And made a new friend called Nicholas Lau from Swiss Cottage. Funny how I have so much chemistry with people called Nicholas -_- But yeah he keeps saying I laugh a lot and that I am a happy person. Hehe, am I a happy person? :) And when I feel like hope is gone You give me strength to carry on |
